Gas Water Heaters

Gas Water Heater Installation, Repair & Replacement

Out of all the appliances that you depend on for everything from comfort to convenience, the gas water heater is probably the appliance that you think about the least. But just consider how crucial it is to your day-to-day life – you’re not taking those daily hot showers without an operating water heater, nor are you going to be able to do wash those dishes or do that laundry.

Your gas water heater also takes up a lot of energy in order to heat your water. According to the Department of Energy, gas water heaters account for up around 17 percent of your home energy use. This means that a gas water heater that isn’t functioning properly will not only result in problems heating your water (there’s nothing worse than taking a lukewarm shower in the winter), but you could end up spending even more on your energy bills.

Gas Water Heater Installation

If you need to replace your gas water heater, then the last thing you want to do is put it off – especially if your gas water heater has stopped functioning entirely. We will not only help you install a more efficient gas water heater, we will make sure that it is sized properly in order to meet the needs of your family. The following are a few signs that you may need to have a new gas water heater installed:

  • Age – If your gas water heater is between eight and 12 years old, it may be time to replace it. It’s only going to begin running less efficiently as it grows even older – not to mention that by this time there are much more efficient models on the market.
  • Poor performance – If your showers are always lukewarm, or you seem to run out of hot water after the second person in your home takes a shower, it means that either your water heater is no longer running efficiently or that it wasn’t sized properly to begin with.
  • High energy bills – High energy costs are often a sign that your water heater is no longer working as efficiently as it used to.

Gas Water Heater Repair

If your water heater isn’t that old, then there’s a chance that any problems its having can be repaired. The following are a few signs that you are in need of gas water heater repair:

  • Discolored water – Discolored water is a result of sediment buildup in the tank. This will require the tank to be flushed and cleaned.
  • Leaks – If you spot standing water near your tank, it means that you’ll need to have the tank flushed in order to repair any leaks.
  • Fluctuating temperatures – If your water goes from ice cold to scalding hot within seconds, it means that there is a faulty element. If it doesn’t heat up at all, it could be an issue with the pilot light.
