Ductless A/C vs. Central Air Conditioning: What’s the Difference?

If you’re still using old, clunky window A/C units, or your existing A/C is on its way out, the first step is to think about your options. There are a lot of great A/C systems out there and plenty of manufacturers from which to choose. But how do you know what type of air conditioner is right for your home in New Jersey? Start with the basics: choosing between a ductless A/C system or a central air conditioner.

Use this blog post to determine which option is the right choice for your property and air conditioning needs.

Ductless mini-split systems, also known as ductless air conditioning systems, consist of one outdoor unit and one or more indoor units that work together to distribute cool air throughout your space. The indoor units of a ductless mini-split system can be affixed to any interior wall, and the units are designed to be sleek and unobtrusive so that you’ll barely notice them.

Central Air Conditioning 101

Central air conditioning systems include one outdoor unit and one indoor evaporator that circulates cool air throughout the ductwork in your home or business. If you have a forced-hot-air heating system, also known as a furnace, that distributes heat through vents, you have ductwork in your building.
