What exactly is a budget plan?A budget plan is a way to divide your costs into 11 equal, manageable payments. Instead of riding the yearly oil bill roller coaster you pay 11 equal payments each month. When does the budget start and when does it end?It starts on August 10th and ends June 10th. What are budget envelopes?Once you sign up for the budget you receive 11 budget envelopes printed with your monthly budget amount. The amount is the same every month. Just put your check in the self addressed budget envelope and get it to us by the 10th of every month. Envelopes will be mailed by early August. Can I pay online or by credit card? Yes you can pay online at www.woolleyfuel.com or we can keep your credit card on file to make the card on the 10th of the month. How do you calculate the budgets?Budgets are calculated with the computer by dividing the number of degree days in a normal winter by the burning rate which is also known as the "K" factor. This rate is different for every household and depends on the size of the house and the efficiency of the boiler. We calculate the budgets based on the price of oil at the beginning of the heating season. The price is subject to change throughout the heating season which could alter any balance at the end of the budget plan. What if your calculations are wrong?The calculations are only an estimate so at the end of the season you could have a credit or a balance. Any credits on budgets may be refunded in July or kept on the account until the new and applied to the new budget season. Any balances due on the account at the end of the year may be paid in July. All balances must be cleared up by July in order to receive budget envelopes for the following season. What's a budget bonus?Any credit balances that accrue earn you a bonus of 2% per annum. These bonuses are added to your account for each month you maintain a credit balance. Will I be subject to finance charges?Finance charges are not added to budget accounts. However, your account may revert back to a 30 day account subject to finance charges if more than three payments are missed. How do I know If I owe money or have a credit?Statements of your budget account are generated once, at the end of the heating season. If you need a printout during the season, give us a call we'll be happy to send a copy of your account if necessary.
